How To Cash Out on Freecash for the First Time

Three of my Freecash withdrawals failed before I figured out how it really works. If you're wondering how to cash out on Freecash for the first time, this guide covers the whole thing: the ID check, the minimum balance, the fee on every payout method, and a real $30 PayPal withdrawal.

It also covers the four ways Freecash pays you, how much you can realistically make, and the three things to check if your Freecash withdrawal fails. Get the first cashout right and every one after it takes about ten seconds.

Is Freecash Legit and Safe?

Yes. Freecash is real and it does pay. I'll show my own payout history further down.

You should know one thing first. In April, Apple pulled the Freecash app from the App Store over complaints about misleading marketing and how it handled data. Google Play brought it back in May and Apple brought it back in June, so it's available again on both stores and on the website.

That's also why Freecash checks your ID before your first cashout. The law requires it, to stop fraud and fake accounts. Your ID goes through a verification company called Veriff, not straight to Freecash.

How To Make Money on Freecash: 4 Ways

Before you can cash out, you need a balance. There are four main ways to earn:

  • Games: the main one. You get paid for reaching certain levels in games like Monopoly Go, Coin Master and Disney Solitaire.

  • Surveys: quicker than games but smaller. Sometimes you get screened out partway through, which is normal.

  • Quests and bonuses: check the Quests tab. Right now there's one that pays for a 7-day streak with a friend. These change often.

  • Referrals: grab your referral link on the Quests page. You get a reward when a friend joins and plays a game, more when they cash out, and your friend gets a $10 bonus too.

How To Pick the Best Freecash Games

Games pay the most, but only if you pick the right ones. Most have a time limit, so here's the checklist I use:

  • Rewards close together: the first few levels should pay early so you get something quickly.

  • Enough time: if you only get a week to reach a level you can't hit in a week, skip it.

  • A 4.5+ rating: and pick a game you'd actually enjoy, since you'll spend real time in it.

  • Boosted offers: look for the "earn 3x more" tags.

Use the phone app if you can. A lot of games are phone-only, and Freecash says the app has the most offers. One more tip so your rewards actually show up: install each game fresh through Freecash and allow tracking if your phone asks. If a game doesn't track, contact Freecash support with a screenshot.

Prefer apps that pay you in the background? JustPlay is another game app worth a look.

How Much Can You Make on Freecash?

Let's be real. Freecash won't make you rich and it won't replace a job. Most reviews find people earn a few dollars an hour at best.

If you played about an hour a day, a rough guess is somewhere around $20 to $75 a month. Some months will be less, because games pay in chunks and offers don't always track.

Think of it as a small side hustle. If you already play games on your phone, it's an easy way to cover something like Netflix or Spotify. For a side-by-side look at what other options pay per hour, read 5 Side Hustles Tested.

Freecash First Cashout Requirements and ID Verification

Your first Freecash cashout needs three things:

  • A verified email

  • A quick ID check

  • A minimum balance of $5 to $20, depending on where you live

The Freecash ID verification is required by law, so you can't skip it. You need a real government ID (not a photocopy) and you'll take a selfie. It takes about five minutes and you only do it once. After your first cashout there's no ID check and no minimum.

Freecash Withdrawal Fees: PayPal vs Gift Cards

Click Cash Out at the top and you'll see PayPal, Venmo, a Visa prepaid card, bank transfer, gift cards like Amazon and Google Play, and crypto. Here's what most people miss: the fees are different for each one.

  • Amazon and Google Play gift cards: no fee. A $25 card is $25.

  • PayPal and bank transfer: 5%, plus an extra $1 under $30. So $20 gets you $18, but $30 gets you $28.50.

  • Venmo and the Visa card: same 5%, but the extra $1 goes away at $25.

  • Crypto: the lowest minimum (just 50 cents), but a higher fee. I saw 7% on Litecoin.

The simple rule: if you'd spend it on Amazon anyway, take the gift card. If you want cash, wait until you hit $30 and use PayPal. Note that some of these options are US only, so you may see different ones where you live.

Freecash PayPal Withdrawal, Step by Step

Here's the exact process I used for a real $30 Freecash PayPal withdrawal:

  • Click Cash Out, choose PayPal and pick $30.

  • Type your PayPal email. It has to be the exact email on your PayPal account.

  • Tick both boxes and click Withdraw.

  • On your first cashout, the ID check pops up here. Click Let's go, photograph your ID, then take a selfie.

Use good light and keep all four corners of the ID in the frame. Once you're approved, the payment goes through, and the $28.50 landed in my PayPal.

My Freecash Cashout History and Payment Proof

Back in June I tried to cash out to PayPal and Venmo, and both failed. In September another one failed. Then the same day I cashed out $71.25 to PayPal and it went through. In October I cashed out $47.50 to PayPal with no problems.

So it does work, and a failed cashout isn't the end. Want more apps that pay out to PayPal? Check out Honeygain and paid research studies on User Interviews.

Freecash Withdrawal Failed? How To Fix It

If your Freecash withdrawal fails, check these three things:

  • Email mismatch: the email you typed doesn't match your PayPal or Venmo account.

  • Unverified email: your Freecash email isn't verified yet.

  • Bad ID photo: your ID photo is blurry or cut off, so take it again in better light.

Still stuck? Use the support chat button in the bottom corner.

To check your Freecash withdrawal status, click My Withdrawals. "Sent to email" means the money is on the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Freecash legit? Yes. Freecash is a real get-paid-to app that pays out to PayPal, Venmo, gift cards and crypto. It was briefly pulled from the App Store in 2026 but is back on both iOS and Android.

What is the Freecash minimum withdrawal? Your first cashout needs $5 to $20 depending on where you live. After that there's no minimum, and crypto can go as low as 50 cents.

How much does Freecash charge to cash out to PayPal? PayPal takes 5%, plus an extra $1 on cashouts under $30. A $30 PayPal cashout gets you $28.50. Amazon and Google Play gift cards have no fee.

Why did my Freecash withdrawal fail? Usually it's an email that doesn't match your PayPal or Venmo account, an unverified Freecash email, or a blurry ID photo. Fix those and try again, or contact support.

The Bottom Line

Cashing out on Freecash is easy once the first one is done. Verify your email, do the one-time ID check, and pick your payout method based on the fees. Take a gift card if you'd spend it anyway, or wait until $30 and use PayPal to keep the most cash. It won't replace a paycheck, but it can easily cover a subscription or two.
